Who We Are

Matthew Rudey
Chief Executive Officer
Matt Rudey is an entrepreneur with an extensive background in finance and operations. In 2000, Matt co-founded and managed the operations of Global Realty Outsourcing (GRO), an outsourcing pioneer focused on financial analysis for the real estate industry. Under Matt’s operational expertise GRO expanded rapidly and within 5 years had more than 1,300 employees and 75 institutional clients. In 2006, it was sold to private equity fund GTCR. Prior to creating GRO, Matt worked as an investment banker in the financial institutions group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and an MBA from UCLA.


John Nordeman
President
John Nordeman brings extensive financial experience as well as deep expertise in the clean tech sector. In 2003, John joined Eagle Capital Partners, a premier $1B+ value-oriented long/short hedge fund where John focused on spin-offs, bankruptcy re-emergences, and other special situation investment opportunities. During John’s tenure at Eagle, John played a key role in helping to grow the fund from $100M to over a $1B primarily through organic growth. Previously, John was an analyst with Bourgeon Partners and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. He holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Columbia University.


Management Team
The Safari Energy team is currently comprised of 16 dedicated professionals with deep experience in renewable energy project development, real estate, structured finance, solar design/engineering, and construction. The team is divided roughly evenly between business development/finance and operations.


Operations Team
The operations team is composed of individuals with nearly 100 years of collective construction and project development expertise. The design team, whose backgrounds are in solar and electrical engineering, create the system design and manage the engineering process. The procurement team purchases and manages the delivery of all system components. The project managers manage the permitting, oversee the electrical, mechanical and roofing crews with daily on-site presence, and interface with the utilities and townships.


Business Development & Finance Team
We do not employ sales people at Safari. The systems we develop require a complex understanding of financial, legal, tax, energy, roofing, tenant, technology, and other issues. As such, our Business Development / Finance team all come from finance backgrounds with specialties in energy or real estate, where they worked on highly complex transactions for large sophisticated customers. The team is focused on providing flexible, value enhanced solutions, leveraging the unique, financial, technical and operational expertise of Safari.
